Thanks for posting it again. I didnt see it the First time.

We have a 2005 odyssey, however we barley have 20k miles on it, so i doubt we qualify. lol.

It adds about 1800 miles to your warranty and that's it. Honda, of course, admitted no fault!

They should do more than that. Resale value is not as much

that's a valid point, but what's the practical difference in resale value of a car with 50,000 miles versus 51,000? $50?

i think the more significant point of the recall is that some owners may have had to shell out hundreds if not thousands of dollars on expensive repairs *just* after warranty expiration, that otherwise would have been covered under warranty if the odomoter had been properly calibrated.

My old 1 ton reads 11.5km on a 10km trip (the spedo's out too), but it is well beyond warranty or any hope of a significant resale value. 2% is not that significant, and the size of your tires can throw it out that much. 1/4 inch of tire height doesn't sound like much, but every time that tire turns it throws the reading out just a little bit more. With larger tires this could work the other way and actually make the odometer read less, potentially extending warranty.

absolutely correct! you can actually "cheat" your odometer by putting larger diameter wheels and higher aspect ratio tires on your car. ;)
