How long will the Cocorro really last?

Just wondering. My sister ordered one. I told her it was tiny and will be outgrown quickly but I really wasn't sure how quickly. How is it compared to the Roundabout? Smaller? Bigger? It looks so darn small.

It's a little smaller than the RA. Top harness slots are around 15 inches. I tried my son in the coccoro when he was about 26-27 months old and he was about 1/2 an inch from the top slots and his head was over the shell so my guess is he would have outgrown it rf by around 18 months old. He is on the bigger side though and the seat was not installed when he was in it so I think it will get most rf to about 2 yrs old and ff to about 3.5 yrs or so.

My DS1 outgrew the RA RFing a year ago. He still fits in the CCO RFing. He's 3.25 and 31#s. I'm not sure on his height, but he is on the shorter side but most of the shortness is in his legs so he shouldn't be that "weird" of a case. It's deceptively much taller than it looks like at least Rfing.

I have a photo somewhere...

The top of the shell is actually an inch or two taller than the roundabout40 so it will last longer than that. It doesn't have a base like the Britax seats so it sits lower. My DD lasted until she was 24m RF in it. Maybe more - I sold it and got her something else so it is possible she would still fit in it RF. She's 80-90%ile for height. My son still fit in the seat FF when he was 39" and 33#, even though he only rode in it once I think when I put it in my parents' car.

Well-timed thread, as I am leaning toward buying one for DS, but was unsure how long it would last him. He's very tiny and very short (only 27" at less than a week away from his first birthday) and has about 4" of shell in his SS1, so I think he'll have ages in the CCO.

it depends on the child entirely of course, but in regards to other seats, as has been said, the shell is a tad bigger than a RA40.

DS is 29" and has tons of room left rf still. He's barely on the 2nd harness slots.

When we got it, I tried DD in it (almost 5, 34 lbs, 41 inches). She still fit for ff, but just barely. But she did still fit!

For my kids, it seems it will last a long time!

This is a timely thread for me too! I have recommended that my sister get one for her dd who is 10 months old and really tiny. Well, not skinny, but definitely short. She's still fitting into her 3-6 month clothes, and she has lots of room (several inches) above her head in a Snugride 22. They want something small because they don't have a car and will be keeping the seat in their small apartment most of the time.

You know you want one! :p I had one for about a month - i bought one on impulse because i could not resist the blue. It was super cute, but my practical side wished i had bought a second TF - so i traded it. But for longevity sake my 2.5 year old fit RF with room to grow. He has a 13in torso.

It's the smallest seat i have tried - and i am pretty sure i have tried them all. It is also SO LIGHT - that's the one thing i really miss about the seat aside from the gorgeous cover. It was so light it was like carrying nothing around compared to my big old TF's! ;)

As others said it really depends on the child. A was even with the top slots when I got it this spring, so around 20 months, but he's big. I'm hopeful the next one will have a shorter torso and longer legs, but we'll see, it's just such a cute seat and takes up so little room. My niece has tons of room in it at 16 months.

Dd was about an inch from outgrowing it rf at 18 months, but that's probably not representative of most kids. She's an outlier - over 95th percentile for height at 34", and her head is off the charts big. Her shoulders were right at the 3rd slots.

I'm hopeful I'll get 9 months to a year out of it, anything after that is gravy for me, but we are in the land of the monster-torsoed children here. ;) (I'm also hoping this baby is built more like my oldest, who is mostly tall in her legs though her torso isn't SHORT, and less like my youngest.)
