Convertible for Grandma's car?

My mom is looking to purchase a convertible seat for use in her car, a Mazda CX-7. I am doubtful that it will be used much at all, but she should have one since she is going to be DS's emergency contact for preschool next year. DS is 3.5, 35+ pounds. My niece is 20 months, 30 pounds. My DD is 12 mos, 18 pounds. We will probably have it installed FF, in case she needs to pick DS up, and my sister is okay with DN riding forward facing in an emergency. In the event that DD needs to ride with her, I would turn it for her. My concern is the strap height. DS is much taller than DN. What is available with harnesses that don't need seat removal to be adjusted. We have a Boulevard, but I don't think that she needs to spend that kind of money on a seat that will rarely, if ever, be used. Thanks.

I'd look at the Safety 1st Complete Air (I've heard of some great deals using BRU's trade in and coupons or something). It rear faces to 40 pounds and has a headrest and harness that just moves up with handles. I'd install it rear facing for all three kids.

Otherwise I'd look at the Learning Curve True Fit and the Evenflo Triumph Advance and Evenflo Momentum. The Momentum, and the EFTA 65 (brand new) have 40 pound rear facing weight limits, so I'd install it rear facing for all three kids as well.
