Question Seperating bases on the Monterey?

Someone on another forum mentioned that two of her friends are having problems with their SK Monterey's bases seperating. Now I have not seen anything but plan to check Josef's when he gets back (he is with my Mom right now) because frankly, this scares me.

I know people have had problems with their SKRs (we seem to have a lot in the other forum I mentioned above with harness frays, covers fraying) and now I hear of the Monterey. I know it is only two people, but it makes me wonder if anyone else is having any problems.

Josef *only* has the Monterey and he is too tall for the Turbo now, so I can not even go get a Turbo from Wal-Mart for him.

Our Monterey has a DOM of August 2008, so almost 2yrs old.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their Monterey's or has heard of any problems.

Thanks so much!

By separating, are they talking about the high back separating from the bottom or something physically happening to the base? I have two montereys and both are fine physically. I hate moving them around though as the base comes off easily if you are just holding the top portion.

Something physically happening to the bases.

I don't like to move ours around either-it is too bulky and heavy but those are two reasons I like it so much.
