Car seat recycling program in SF Area

...does anyone know where there is one? I'd hate to contribute to landfill.

Call your garbage co. I am told that Sonoma County at least will recycle the shell through the normal blue recycling cans if you take the seat apart.

Ooo, good idea. I never thought to call the garbage company. Green Toys company make their toys from recycled milk jugs, I thought someone out there must do something with these car seat parts, right?

And if your company doesn't have a similar program, you could call Sonoma County and see if they have a facility where they'd accept one for dropoff (some do, some don't.)
