Question Tell me about the Compass booster!

We are going to Australia in Nov and I think I may decide to buy a booster for Dorian for the trip. He will be 8 and I think will be close to outgrowing the Radian :)() and I am not taking the Regent.:p

Is this a good booster? I thought the folding would be great and would most likely fit in the overhead bin on the plane so I would not have to check it. I would also use it for my nieces now as I would like an extra booster.

Thanks so much!

My friend's son has one. He is 6 yrs, 50 lbs, and about 45-46" tall. It doesn't fit him extremely well. The lap portion of the belt rides high. He fits much better in the ProBooster.

What about a Turbo? You chould take it apart, pack the back (in a suitcase) and take the bottom on the plane in the overhead. Just a thought.

I borrowed my neighbor's Compass booster when we went on a trip to Florida and it was OK. It folds yes and it comes with its own travel bag but its still big and barely fit in the overhead compartment. The fit was fine but I prefer the TB. My dd1 is tall/thin and she had too much wiggle room in the Compass :twocents:

My dd rides in a compass in dh's truck. She's almost 9 and 70 lbs or so. She's pretty tall and has a thin to average build. It fits her really well and has since we got it a year ago. It tends not to work too well on smaller booster riders, but an average 8 year old should be fine.

A turbo would be good too if you thought he might fit one by then. A is too tall for a turbo now. Vivo and monterey also come apart. Back in the suitcase, bottom as a carry on.

My 7 year old uses one in our car. He has a really hard time buckling it because the handles stick out pretty far, but if he remembers to lift the handle up it's much easier. Other than that I like it.
