Gates

We have an opening between our living room and dining room that is approximately 72". Pretty big! We want to gate it off before the baby starts to get around, since the computer and the heater are in the dining room (we have a large space heater in the dining room that heats the entire apartment). We also don't want to spend a lot. This is the one I've found so far that looks like it will fit our budget and space. Any one have experience with it?

Any other idea? TIA!

I found this one on a pet site, have no idea if it would be safe to use for babies or not, but it goes as wide as 96". Hope you find something that works. I'm starting my search for an extra tall gate that can be mounted at the top of the stairs.

This one is on the Canadian Sears site but I didn't see it on the US site. It's $129.99 (4110.92 US) and is 70" - 144".

I like the mesh one, but it seems like a bit of overkill, since our opening is 72" and the minimum for that one is 70". That leaves a lot of extra gate hanging around!

I found this one at one step ahead and I think it will be perfect for our needs with 1 extra panel.

I will be on the lookout for a tall top of the stairs gate for you while I look for one for us. Any one else have any ideas?

BTW-I still haven't heard back from my SIL about the chair for you. I will try to call her tomorrow to see if she got the email.

Hard to believe there are so many choices out there for gates, lol. The last one that you posted looks like it would be good...you could even barricade the space heater behind it (like they have the kids corralled in the one pic). Tallest gates I have found so far 41" - 42" which is about a foot taller than normal gates.

Thanks for remembering about the chair.
