A person has a Britax Marathon for sale and states that it was manufactured in 2003, and says that it is good until 2013:confused:

Flag it. Or if you feel like being nice, email the seller with the link to the Britax FAQ that clearly states their seats are good for SIX years from the date of manufacture (it also explains in simple terms WHY they choose six years). :)

I am guessing that is wrong and it will be good till 2009. Ask her were she got the 2013. If it is on the seat or not. I just bought a seat and it is good till 2013 and it is made in 2007

i personally don't like to automatically flag these things just because there are factual errors in the listing. if the seat is legit, the seller does deserve the fair chance to sell it, provided he/she heeds our friendly advice to correct the expiration date. i'm just against categorically flagging without giving people a chance. just hitting the flag button is the easy way out, and doesn't help the seller understand what they did wrong.

I agree, and I always personally email people...but I get some NASTY responses, and I know others do, too, and no one should have to deal with that if they don't want to. Flagging it is perfectly fine if the seller is giving dangerous misinformation (in this case telling someone this seat is fine to use much longer than is really safe).

So while I do agree that the nice thing to do is let the seller know what the problem is, I understand why some people don't feel comfortable doing that.
