Ok, I LOVE this seat for the price. It's WAY nicer than I expected! I LOVE that:
It's made in the USA
It's affordable
The instruction booklet has lots of good common sense advice, like you can't use it as a booster until your child is 44" tall and 40lbs, don't wear snowsuits or bulky clothes, don't install with seatbelt and latch together, etc.
It's decently padded for the price
It's easy to install (with the belt at least)
The harness height is incredible!
If you do use it as a booster (and unless you have a small 5-6 yo you probably never would) it can be latched in booster mode
It's also decently light and I think would be a good travel seat
2 cupholders!
Now if they would just make the headrest adjustable and add a few inches to the booster height it'd be a REALLY great seat!
Here are my kiddos on the maestro:
ds1 is 5 1/2, around 43" and 42ish lbs. As you can see, he's not even at the 44" minimum for booster mode and it's almost outgrown in booster mode! Though he does have a long torso.
ds2 is almost 3, 37ish inches and 35lbs. He's pretty much dead even or maybe a smidge under the 3rd from the top slots when installed, so I put them higher so I wouldn't have to continually check dh's car.
THIS CHILD IS TOO SMALL TO RIDE IN THIS SEAT- SHE IS STILL RFING - JUST PUTTING THIS UP FOR COMPARISON SAKE! dd wouldn't sit still, but she's almost 1 year, probably 19lbs. I would NEVER put her in this seat at this age, but you can see how it fits tiny kiddos who are pretty much at the bare minimums (in 1 lb and 2 weeks) to use the seat.
