Question Bjorn Potties vs. Ikea Potty

I thought there was a thread on this that might answer my question, but cannot find it. :( Sorry if I'm repeating that.

I noticed the Ikea potty has a larger bowl and narrower seat than the regular Bjorn potty chair. Does anyone know if all the Bjorn potties have the same proportion of bowl and seat? I was just thinking it might be better for small bottoms. Or maybe I am overthinking it since children are much more adaptable than us. ;)

It'd be handy to have another potty and, since this is not our main potty, I was planning to get an Ikea potty for about $4.25 with tax when I get back there, but I saw the Bjorn little potty is at diapers.com for $8.49 ($9.99 - 15%).

Here is the old thread you were probably looking for, lots of comparisons on there.

How old is the child you're looking for a potty for? Personally I think the BBLP is too small for most children over 18 months unless it is a travel/car potty.

Out of those two, I'd get the Ikea. It's cheaper, and a little taller so it would probably be more comfortable longer. I think the baby bjorn potties look SO small!
I remember the thread you were thinking of, I couldn't find it either. I know it had several comparison pictures between the two. They looked similar enough to me.

We have the Bjorn Big potty and love it. I wasnt impressed with the Little potty at all. DD is 3 and still uses the Bjorn big potty on a daily basis. She prefers it over the toilet and cushy seat.

Thank you all. I had forgotten the little potty was shorter than the Ikea and I read in the other thread that it lacks the non slip strip. I think I'll go back to the plan to get an Ikea potty.

We actually have the bjorn big potty chair and love it, but this will be a secondary potty so I didn't want to spend as much for this one, otherwise I'd get another of those.

Thanks!

The Ikea potty is about an inch shorter than the big Bjorn potty. This one is the same height as the big Bjorn potty and also has more of a back and a removable bowl like the Bjorn potty you already have.

Just another option. You could probably get it down to about $10 with price match and coupons.

I have both the BB and ILP. The bowl on either is plenty big. A full bladder-emptying fills less than a quarter of the way. My daughter is just two and the ILP is almost too tall for her. Her thighs are parallel to the ground when she is sitting. The BB has her knees up, which is the more ergonomic position (easier to move bowels and fully empty bladder). I like both potties, but if I was going to buy another it would be the ILP if I was going to Ikea anyway, because it is cheaper and because it will fit a bigger child. However, I don't regret the purchase of the BB and would buy another if a trip to Ikea wasn't planned.

Baby Bjorn has a new potty (Smart Potty) which I think will eventually replace the little potty. It has a removable bowl, which would be really nice for travel.
