2003 Ford Expl w/side by side Marathons?

Hello!
We have an '03 Ford Explorer w/third row. We were told to never install a car seat in the third row, so that leaves us with 2 car seats in the middle that need to be side by side or else we won't be able to access the back row for seating. We have a Marathon installed(foward facing) in the middle right now and a snugride installed behind the drivers side. Our daughter has well outgrown her snugride so we need to get her into a seat asap. Has anyone here placed 2 Marathons in an '03 Explorer side by side /2nd row?

Thanks!

The probably should fit, but who told you never to put a seat in the third row???? The manuals (car and seat) have no such warnings, so whoever told you that was not being factual :/

You can do it. I've done it with a MA and RA, though. Not 2 MA. I doubt that makes much difference.

As for not being allowed to have a car seat in the 3rd row, that's just crazy. My 3rd row seat has LATCH and I have installed car seats back there on several occasions.

As long a it's an actual seat for the truck (vehicle/whatever, I just call mine a truck ;) ), from the manufacturer, as in " 03 Explorer with optional 3rd row seating " and not something somebody else got from somewhere else and threw in there ;)
And agreeing with the others, I don't see why it wouldn't fit. I've done several configurations of Marathon/Roundabout/Fisher Price Safe Embrace in my Expedition which can't be that much different than the Explorer interior seating wise ;)

It is perfectly acceptable to put a carseat in the 3rd row of a 2003 (actually 2002-current) Explorer. Here are some pages of the 2003 owner's manual that I snapshotted off a web portal from where I used to work for Ford.

There are tethers for the 3rd row, but latch only in the second row, so the 3rd row will have to use the vehicle seatbelts.
