Harness top slot on Safety 1st Avenue

Is is higher than the Scenera?

I was thinking I could use that for Kaleigh until she hits 40 lbs or I have the funds for a better seat. I have a Scenera, but I would really rather her have some foam around her head instead of just hard plastic.

    barely. Maybe 1/2 an inch?

eta: hmm. the spreadsheet says I'm wrong. I really didn't think the avenue was anywhere near 16.5". I thought more like 15.5.

The Avenue is decent. 16". The Scenera is 15" or 15.5".

Without the cover, I measured the top slot to be 16.25 inches. It is definitely taller than the scenera.

Why not get an Evenflo Maestro instead? Or do you have already have one?

Re: Harness top slot on Safety 1st Avenue

I don't have one. I have a bias against evenflo that's 12 years old now. DSs convertible when he was a baby wouldn't lock in the most reclined position for rear facing. Being a new mom, I thought that was normal. Of course I ditched the seat when I found out it wasn't.

I also don't like how the headrest is fixed on the maestro.

For now she's in the Scenera until I can get a nice seat. I don't have the money for anything right now so it will have to do as much as I don't care for the lack of foam in the head area. It's either that, a year expired marathon, or a turbo booster. Lesser of the evils for now.
