Question Does he fit in the true fit without headrest?

I want to use the True fit we just bought without the headrest on our trip to Mexico next week. Has he grossly outgrown the height limit or does he have room? I know about the red line and one inch rule but don't have enough experience measuring and am always surprised by how much room the boys have left in their seats by other peoples rules!

He is 21lbs naked. He is 22 lbs with a full tummy and summer clothes. We'll use the headrest for sure when we return.

Thanks!

Judging particularly by the second and third photos, and the correct way to measure rearfacing head room, I would say he has outgrown the seat by height. When the line is drawn perpendicular to the shell, his head appears to exceed that line by at least 1/2".

I thought the head rest had to be used after 20 pounds, not 22, but I may be misremembering.

A Cosco Scenera would provide a lightweight seat to take with you to Mexico.

It's up to 22 lbs for the headrest. :)

page 7 of pdf, page 6 of manual

fa cing position is, designed for use by children whose:
- W eight is between 5 and 22 lbs (2,3 and 10 kg), and

I agree that he looks too tall for it by height without the headrest.
