I saw my friends noob today in her KF and I drove them home. Since I don't have a base, I just showed her how to use it baseless. Do all the KFs have the cover that goes over the belt guides? I had to undo the sides of the cover to get to the guides. Is that normal or was hers put together wrong?

I'm pretty sure there's a slot in the cover that you can slip the belt guide through.

You could be right. I've only ever played with a Keyfit on display at Baby Depot (you don't see them much around here) so if you're right, it must have been the 30.
I thought the holes in the cover were pretty clever though. I wonder why they didn't put them on both (if that's the case)? It would seem pretty annoying to have to just pull the cover off the sides.

You can see that there aren't cut outs in the cover of the regular KeyFit. I don't know what the manual says about it.
