I believe someone mentioned that the former Recaro that this will be based off of was a higher seated seat...I want something my child will be able to climb himself into?

If it is going to be as high as the Signo and Como, it will sit very high on the seat. Based on the pictures I have seen, it looks to be about the same as far as the height of the base goes. Climbers should be able to climb in the seat themselves but I think a lot of children will still have trouble. Something like the True Fit, Radian, or Complete Air is a great seat for those that want to climb in themselves since they are so low profile

Eta: disregard this. It seems Im getting the record seats confused. I think I'm thinking of the proride or whatever the signo/como replacement is.

Comparing the image to what I have it looks like it will not be higher than the current Young sport, perhaps a smidge shorter as it looks like they have ditched the recline feature.
According to that site they also upped the harness height limit to 50" instead of the previous 40".
My daughter, 4 this month, is able to get in the seat (older Young sport model) herself. In the van she climbs in from the empty bench seat beside it but in the Civic she climbs in from the front with no issues.

No one has recieved one yet so we can't say for sure about measurement until they actually hit the shelves ;)
