Booster recommendation for Toyota Tacoma

After posting about finding a harness seat that will work on the funky fold down bench in my DH's Toyota Tacoma, we have not found a seat that gets snug enough. I need something for emergencies only for my 40 month old DS. He has hit the 33lb and 38 inch point where I am wondering what booster would be best for emergency use and booster training. The Toyota does have latches. I want something that will be a good fit and easy to use. Thank you!

The problem is, he is too young for booster training. I wonder if a ride safe travel vest would work?

I agree that he is too young and small for a booster. The Maestro is shallow and can be used for booster training a year or so down the road.

I doubt you could install a maestro in there though. OP, what year again? Still looking for one here.

It is a 2008. I really have tried to find a harness seat that works back there. The Radian was awful but great in my CRV. I really need booster recommendations for his size knowing that it will just be occassionally used until he is bigger. I would guess it is better to use a well fitting booster than a harnessed seat that is way loose.

Someone in my other thread said the nauti fit well. If I was determined to use a booster with a 3 year old, I would be trying the new parkway with slide guard.

I've been reading about all the boosters with latch but had not considered the Parkway yet. I've considered the Monterey, Cybex, Oobr, and the Probooster (even though it has no latch). Of all these, do you think the Parkway would be the best fit and easiest to use even though it doesn't have a latch? Thanks!

Latch isn't going o keep a 3 year old from dying in a crash. I was thinking to atleast keep to baby in a 4 point harness, the parkway.

You against the rstv?

By fold down bench, do you mean a side facing jump seat? That's the only type of seat I've come across that folds down, but then again I'm not too familiar with trucks.

I am posting from my phone, but search 'toyota tacoma' in title and 'Judi' as the thread starter. I have pics.

Seriously, do you think your 3 year old is mature enough to stay in the proper position for a whole ride?

I'm not sure about the maturity thing until we try. He sits very still in his seats. The booster would only be the emergency backup since I can't find a good fitting harness seat for that darn truck. I'd consider the vest if you think it would be the best option for me. Would I use it with the seat folded up or down?
