I dont really like fruit... is that bad??
I love brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and especially asparagus(Id say that is my favorite veggie)-as well as many other veggies- but I just dont like fruit. Most of them are too acidic for me, even ones you wouldnt expect to be called acidic.
Is it bad that I honestly cant remember when I last ate a piece of fruit? I do fruit smoothies all the time(cut with yogurt they are quite delicious) but I dont ever eat straight fruit lol! I know Im teaching DS a bad behavior, he will do fruit smoothies too but wont eat any whole fruit.
We do fruit juice, but we water it down. Usually 1 part juice to 9 parts water(because our cups are mainly 10oz cups lol!)

I love fruit, but much of it doesn't love me :p

Favorites are too specialised to get here in the US
Cavallion Melon (a small personal sized melon from Provence that is just YUM!)

Korean Apple/pear fruit - They sell some of these here in the States, but they're NOTHING like the ones sold streetside in Korea. They run about 2-3 lbs each -- crunchy like an apple, but sweetness more like a pear. No drippy or stickiness either. :)

Not a fruit, but I miss Hot Chesnuts sold at the winter markets in Europe or stuffed into a goose for Christmas dinner.

I also appreciate good vine tomatos & sweet English cucumbers. Difficult to get in this area that have any flavor. :(

Oh and pomagranits when they are in season! Oh and muscadines!!!!

Well heck I must have forgotten what all kinds of fruits there were lol!
There is a muscadine ?vinyard? down here. They have rows and rows of them and makes wines and spreads and stuff. Id totally forgot all about it! I havent been since DS was born. Uh oh I have a trip to plan! lol!

What fruit do you HATE?

I hate pomegranates (LOL), don't really like bananas except for cut-up in cereal, don't like peaches unless they're peeled, don't like mango or papaya all that much.

WATERMELON! I hate watermelon! and all melons!

Ive always disliked bananas, their taste and texture! I use to be ok with them in cereal... and then I found organic bananas! and its like a whole different fruit lol! Softer, smoother, juicier, sweeter. I like organic ones... but overall this dont like them that much.

Cool! You learn something new every day! :p

WATERMELON! I hate watermelon! and all melons!

You know, I used to despise melon, but the older I get the more I can handle it. I don't mind GOOD sweet seedless watermelon now, but I don't like other melon.

OMG, too funny that you said this! I do enjoy organic bananas, and they DO taste different. Way more "real fruit" tasting. I commented on this to my cousin and friend one time, and they now tease me constantly about it. They don't get how it can possibly taste different.

I'd have to say red raspberries followed by 'real' peaches!! I don't eat bananas or melons, they don't like me. My kids had organic bananas once and now will not eat the conventional kind. OK with me, I didn't know about the taste difference never having tried them. I could tell the texture sure is different. They seem to be firmer and less...slimy(?) when ripe!!

my sister didnt either until she bought some, they last longer too. She said she couldnt justify the cost though. I guess it helps that our local mom&pop grocery store gets overstocked items and often has organic bananas for the same price as regular(also they just got some organic lettuce heads that were so sweet! the only bad thing is its hit or miss as to what and when they will have something).

Pumello is like a huge grapefruit, but less juicy, and more prone to coming out in nice easy to eat pieces - a little sweeter too. I remember the first time I tasted it, a girlfriend at work had some, I was soooo excited to try it, and looked all over for somewhere in our pretty small town to buy it. Finally found it on a trip to Cosco and bought it, and raved to DH about how great it was going to be. Let me tell you, that thing was a major PITA to get peeled. By the time we actually got the fruit out, it was hardly worth it. Since then I have stuck to regualr grapefruit - not quite as tasty, but not near as much effort either:p My fave's are strawberries - really any berries, blueberries, raspberries... pineapple and peaches for sure. Really I love any fruit:D .

And yes, the cost of organics is a problem. Today, regular bell peppers were 89 cents each, organic bell peppers were...get this...$3.89 EACH. Not per pound, EACH. Regular bananas are 49 cents a pound, organics are 99 cents a pound.

I have been sooo pleased since we got a new super wal-mart up here. This is the first time I have seen organic fruit so reasonably priced - organic pears 99 cents, apples the same, grapes almost as cheap as the reg. ones. YAY

I have to pick one?? Oh. man. I grew up and still live on a fruit farm. We have peaches(fresh, right off the tree, YUM), prunes(yes, they are fresh and called that. They are smaller than a plum and much more tart. Dried plums are also called prunes). We also have sweet cherries that are awesome. WE have pie cherries, too and if they are right at the peak of ripeness they are kind of sweet tart. Oh, and gravenstein apples. I am an apple addict. I also LOVE watermelon. I grew some last year and they were good.

Fruit I hate: CANTELOPE---YUCK!!

:D

While I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of honeydew melon and cantelope, I can't stand their taste. I also don't like Starfruit.
