Thoughts on SeatSnug

So, I just won a free SeatSnug. I have a 5 month old, so obviously I won't be using it. Is it worth passing on to a friend or is it a waste of (someone else's) money? Also, is it safe, being aftermarket and all?

Ok I had no idea what it was so I looked it up and watched the video... Yeah... um... invention FAIL. Not only is it not approved to use with any booster seats out there as far as I know, but if this was needed, couldn't you just lock the belt at the retractor?

I think it would make a good paperweight. It definitely shouldn't be used with any child or any booster seat.

I pretty much knew the answers I'd get. I just wanted to be sure. I'll just add it to my collection of things I got for baby that never got used. :)

It looks like it functions basically as a locking clip. Here is a post that describes why it's not a good idea to use a locking clip (or presumably anything that functions as one) with a belt positioning booster. (Just in case you need a reason to not use it other than "it's an after market product.")

Gosh, maybe if they ROUTED THE BELT PROPERLY on that Turbo, they'd have fewer problems...

Anyways, aftermarket = bad. And since this affects how the belt works, it's DEFINITELY bad. I wouldn't risk my kids to it. (And who drives like that, anyways?)

Oh damn, you're right! I had to go back and watch again because I missed that the first time. And wouldn't you know it, its routed correctly in the "after" video.
