S/O Monterey video: Effect of SIP wings in frontal collision injuries?

Brooklynsmommy's video clip (Monterey vs a non-US seat of some kind) actually brings up something I've been wondering since we got our Monterey this week:

What is the effect of SIP booster wings in NON-side impact collisions? I am wondering, if there were a front impact collision, the head would be thrown forward, and when it rebounds, what if it doesn't rebound right between the wings? Wouldn't that be a really bad cervical spine injury?

I don't think it's a worry, the wings have foam around them on the front, or the plastic isn't hard enough to damage the back of the head. Though it's interesting to see wing design change over time, like Britax going from the Wizard wings to the Frontier wings being way more of an 'open bowl' design that may contain the head better in side crashes but also appears to give a wider head catching area on rebound (I don't think wing design change is based on any known injuries or anything, just general design improvement).
