Maestro straps hurting his neck

We got our Maestros middle of the week and finally used it today. Well after being in the seat for awhile he started to complain that the straps were hurting his neck and he had 2 red spots, one on each side of his neck. Is there anything I can do to keep them from hurting him?

When you buckle him in, pull his shirt collar up so that it covers his neck, that way instead of the harness rubbing the neck, it rubs his collar. :)

Purchase a couple strap covers. Just ensure they are thin enough where they come between the straps and his shoulders so that they don't interfere with the fit of the harness. I grabbed a pair from Walmart that are black with little bear heads on them. They are super soft and really thin. I have no qualms using them even though they are an after market item. I would rather have my child comfortable and using the seat properly and not have irritating red lines from the harness straps.

If you are using aftermarket strap covers, then your child is not using the seat properly.

For the original poster, you could always contact the manufacturer of the child seat to see if there are any approved strap covers for the seat.

Thanks ladies. I will email them and see what to do. I definitely don't want any of the strap covers from WM unless Evenflo tells me of an approved one.

When there are no approved strap covers, we generally recommend a pair of thin baby socks, and cutting the toes off.
