    Props to my mom!

A friend of my mom's is a pediatrician. Tonight they went out for dinner and one of the coversations that came up was about DS. My mom told her friend about our car accident and how she and I were so hurt but DS was fine because he was in his rear facing seat. Dr. friend said "he's STILL rear facing?!?" My mom said "yep don't you know it's safer?"

After my mom told me the story tonight I of course told her to tell her friend the AAP's rear facing guidelines the next time she sees her. I sure hope she does! In the mean time though I'm super proud of my mom!

Way to go mom! It amazes me the number of ped's who aren't keeping up with the carseat safety.

    Yay mom!

I'm amazed also. We had a mom come to a check up event. Her son was over 20lbs and 1 week away from his first birthday. She wanted him forward facing because the ped said it was ok. So peds are telling parents to break the law.

Go mom! Awesome that she's so supportive of you.

My nanny kids' ped has told parents to FF as early as 10mos. He has young kids, too (like 7, 5, 2 or something.) I need to figure out a way to get some literature into that office. No clue how to go about it, though, since I'm not a patient (or rather, parent of a patient.)
