My car was broken into.

They busted out the back driver's side window of my van, covering my son's Nautilus in shards of glass.

Do I need to replace the entire seat, or just the cover? What about the harness? There's so much glass I don't feel comfortable just washing the cover. (The window was actually laying in his seat when I got to the car.)

That's scary! No idea what to do about your seat. But I hope you get some answers soon and find a solution you feel comfortable with!

DF's car has been broken two more than once (unfortunately...) If you have a spare, I'd switch out the seat for a couple days, because those little bits of glass get EVERYWHERE!!!

Take the seat outside, vacuum your car, get some heavy duty gloves and get in between the seats, fold down the seats if you can - there will be glass in places you'd never think of.

As for the Nautilus, take it apart. It is not at all easy, but it needs to be doone to get all the glass out. Don't worry about the armrests. They're on there good, but go through the little cubbies with a wipe to make sure you get all the glass out, it'll stick. Take off the cover and shake out every piece before putting the seat back together. Make sure you shake out the bottom portion the best, the recline part and underneath with probably hide the most glass.

Do an initial cleaning. Then let it sit overnight. Go back later the next day anad clean it again, I bet you'll find more glass. Knock it around, hang it upside down, and let it sit ANOTHER day. Clean it again. You'll probably find only a couple little harmless flecks.

Sorry about you car! It sucks.

I would worry about the glass shards compromising the integrity of the harness & the seat belt - I would call the manufactiure of the car & the car seat to see what they advise.
