If you were me, would you order a Radian 80SL?

My dd2 is 26 months and weighs 34 lbs. She's 33.5 inches tall (50th percentile). She's currently in a MR. She has been following her big sis's weight growth curve, so going by that, she'll last in the MR to 3 or slightly past. Then, she'd hit 45 lbs just shy of 4. Would you get a Radian for those 5 lbs that would last probably less than a year or call it good when she hits the 40? I know there are moms here that would say to keep her rfing to 4, but I'm not sure I want to throw down $200 for another seat for rfing, kwim? I'd rather take the $$ and get her a GN for forward-facing when she gets there (love, love the GN).

If you have no other reason, I would stick with what you have. I would buy those extra 5lbs of rfing time IF she outgrows the MR before 3. My personal goal is 3yo as a minimum and longer if possible. That is why I went ahead and bought 2 xtsls. I highly doubt we will use them for forward facing as I will most likely buy a dedicated combination seat (FR85 or the like) at that point.

Stick with what you have for now. She may follow her own growth curve and last longer than you expect. If she outgrows it before you're ready to turn her, reevaluate then.

I completely agree with Crunchy. Besides, who knows what seats will be out when/if your DD needs a new RF seat!

Wait to see how long it takes her to gain those pounds. Then re-evaluate at that time. I bought a Radian to keep DD3 RF. It took her 8 months to gain the 2 lbs that put her over the MA limit.

If I was in your shoes I woundn't get a Radian. With 10+ months before you need another one, I would definitely wait and see what new seats come out.
