Question People with Focii? Booster?? (scatter, bookmama? )

I ran into an issue with my grammas focus. I've always put the nauti in there, no issues, but this time, we took dd's booster (sob, my baby is growing up!) I tried to put a TB in it. It won't fit outboard. I mean, if you set it there, pushed as far outboard as you can (the seat curves around, so you can't push it any further) it literally is wider than the seating position, and the female buckle, ,which is fixed and unmovable and sort of down really low in the seat bight, is completely covered by the TB, such that you'd have to route the seat belt literaly behind the TB to buckle it, which clearly you can't do. Does that makes sense? And you can't move the seat closer to the door, so ??? I guess you just can't put a TB there? Is that right? She was able to use the middle position, I just set the booster way over, and even then, she had to buckle into the outboard female buckle, because the middle one was again behind the TB, but it was just barely doable. So what the heck? What boosters are people using in Focii? It's an extremely common vehicle, I'm sure there are tons of families with boostered kids driving Focii, what the heck booster are they using? Am I just insane?
(and yes, I like saying "focii" )

I've used a TB in my Focus before...but I'm having trouble picturing what you're describing. I've always been able to buckle the seatbelt just fine when using just about any booster outboard. In the middle, you're right, the booster usually needs to encroach on an outboard seating position a bit in order to buckle. If I do three-across I usually need to install the driver's side seat with LATCH so the center seat doesn't risk unbuckling the driver's side seatbelt.

I agree with what Jenny said, though with an Air Booster instead of a Turbo. (We don't have a high-back Turbo, and with no headrests, DS can't use the backless turbo in the Focus.) We've also used the Parkway, FPSV (currently) and will soon be using the Cybex Solution X-Fix if it fits there. :p (Though I doubt it will, so it'll be going in DH's car.)

I think you may just need to fiddle with how close to the door you can really put the seat. I have to put the booster as far over as possible since we have a 3-across (KeyFit in the middle, Radian on driver's side) and it's not a problem.

DD2 just rode home from Open House at school this evening in DH's company car ('02 Focus) with her Parkway (old style, not SG) - have also used her FPSV there without issues.
