Nothing like a little vomit in a shiny new seat

My new ERF kiddo got carsick yesterday. Twice. He has been a little prone to throwing up in the car on occasion even forward facing. So I wasnt really surprised. He was totally fine for the first few days though so I'm hoping it was just a bad day. It was right after breakfast (he had cereal, which makes me queasy if I eat it in the morning) and I didnt have the windows down like I usually do bc it was a little chilly. Luckily I was able to pull his seat out of the car to clean in minutes after the incident so I dont think any smell is lingering. I'm going to try sticking to the roads in town instead of going on our usual back roads from now on. And were actually moving to town in a month so that will really cut back on curvy roads. He's actually complained about feeling sick in the car while FF recently but I though he was just being whiny. Bad mommy. I saw in another thread that someone suggested those little bracelets for motion sickness. Can those be found at WM or Target or will I have to order one online? I dont want to just give up on RF. He's still loves his seat being backwards and would be sad if I turned it. And I obviously want him to get the safety benefits as long as he can. So boo :(

I started having motion sickness as a 20-something, but only on curvy country roads. I have to sit up front for this reason, so that what I see matches what I feel. (I can also get away with sitting in the center of the back, if it's a safe seating position.) I would think that on one hand, RF might be better because he can see more, but on the other hand, what he sees does not so much match up with his sense of motion.

You can definitely get sea bands at WalMart, in the pharmacy/health and beauty section. :)

:( Sorry mama. That really bites. Puke is never fun to clean up but even less fun to clean up when it's in a carseat. EVEN moreso when you are on a trip OOT and you're 30 minutes in and your little one hacks when you have no where to clean it out and no back up... That's what happened to me yesterday. I was so close to buying a $39 Scerena at Walmart but I got it cleaned out well enough and lined the bottom with a very thin burp cloth. THen when we got to the hotel I hand washed it.

Ok, your puke story is way worse than mine  I was on my way to my moms house with the kids the first time so it wasnt a biggie to pull the seat out. And the second time the seat stayed clean bc DH caught it with his hands  The man is usually pretty hands off when it comes to the yucky parts off parenting, I dont know what came over him! I was glad I didnt have to clean the seat again though...

Awww...sorry that stinks (literally, too;)) I get car sick as well on curvy roads if I'm not in the front seat so sticking to town streets wouldnt be a bad idea to see if that helps. I also can't read or look out the window at passing trees for too long, it makes it worse. Maybe you could give him a few small brightly colored toys to look at to keep him from watching the trees whiz by?

Hope it doesnt happen again, it's no fun!

Uck. My dd vomited in her seat a few times, too. Clean up is not fun. It does make the vinyl cover, for the Radian, look pretty good, though:).
