Britax Decathlon vs Boulevard

This is my current situation, my DD will be 2 on March 17 and currently weighs a little over 39 pounds and is 38 Inches tall. My current carseat only goes to 40 pounds and I know she can not be in a booster until she is 4 or older so I am searching for a good carseat and these are the two I was looking at.
I noticed the Britax Decathlon has the crotch strap that adjusts but it does not have the other features that the Boulevard has that I would like. After reading and more reading I have not found if the crotch strap adjusts on the Boulevard?
Thanks for any input.

It does not. The Decathalon is the only of the three that does.

The Radian has an adjustable crotch strap, is that a seat you may be interested in?

The boulevard crotch straps do not adjust, only the DC has that feature. Also, 4 is a minimum requirement for a booster, a child should be harnessed as long as their seat allows. With the MA/DC/BV seats, that is 65 lbs, but they are usually outgrown by height first (but I am suer your DD has much room to grow). Honestly, I havent heard too much of an issue with not being able to adjust the crotch strap on the MA or BV with little girls (little boys is a littel different...). A few other deffernces between the Bv and the Dc is that the DC has a push button harness adjuster in the front, as opposed to the standard lift lock type with the BV. The BV has a one handed height adjuster and the DC does not. So each has its pros and its cons. It is just a matter of which one you would prefer.

I have a Boulevard and a Decathlon for my 2 year old and I do not use the crotch adjustment for him on the Decathlon. Maybe in 3 years I will, but I never missed it on my daugther's Marathon that she used until she was 5 either. I much prefer the Boulevard over the Decathlon because of the turn knob height adjustor and the lever strap adjustor as opposed to the push-button one the Decathlon has.

I do not have the Boulevard. I have a Decathlon in Tiffiny. I wish I would have gotten any seat but the Decathlon. It is on its way back to Britax with problems with the push-button adjuster. I love love my Marathon and Regent. I have also used the Roundabout and liked it as well (not that that would be a choice for your daughter).

Thank you for the information but now I am wondering if I should purchase the Regent instead because of the height issue. So what specifically besides the weight and height differences are there in these seats. I will tell you I shyed away from the Regent because I have heard it is bulky and I have no way of testing any of these seats out because none of the stores locally carry the ones I am interested in so I must purchase online. I have a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan and she will be in a bucket seat. Thanks for any help!!

the regent is only a few inches taller than any of the Britax HWH seats. it should fit fine in a caravan. (maybe someone who had installed one can chime in) The Regent harnesses up to 80 pounds and has much higher top slots. Since you DD is no longer small enough to RF, this would probably be my choice.

I thought the DC crotch strap only adjusted in. I am getting a new one back from Britax because of the harness adjustment issue. I think it is a great seat, but I wish they would work out the issue with the harness.

The push button adjuster is very good for kids who can/do release the lever harness adjuster.

Here is a picture of the regent in my Honda CRV. It was super easy to install. It is heavy and bulky but that should not be a problem unless you are going to be moving it from car to car frequently. It is a great seat because it will probably be the last harness seat you will *need* to buy. It has an adjustable crotch strap. It would probably be a good install in a bucket seat. My son loves his Regent because he can cross his feet. Also the regent does not sit any higher than the Marathon when you install with the recline bar. I thought Jackson would look really small in it but as you can see in my sig picture he looks quite comfortable.

Also, for comparison look in thefosters.2 's post above you can see that the closest seat is a regent and the one next to it is a Marathon.

I think the seat in the center is a Boulevard. It looks like it has "wings." Same difference, though, when it comes to foot-print/size. :)
