Requesting measurements from your carseats for the measurements/data spreadsheets

Earlier this year, I developed some spreadsheets to collect data on various carseats (infant, convertible, combination/youth, dedicated boosters). A great deal of data has been gathered so far with the help of many of the board members here.

Here is a link to the master spreadsheets with the measurements and data. The submission form links are also found on this site.
http://sites.google.com/site/carseatmeasurements/

For easy access to the spreadsheets, there is a post in the articles forum of this site so hopefully you can find the links quickly there whenever needed:
http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=114993

Below is a list of the seats we are still needing data on. If you have access to any of the below seats (or any I might have left of the list by accident), I would appreciate any of your data. If you click on the submission forms, I tried to provide a description of how the measurement should be taken if you need help gathering the data. You can also send me a PM if you have questions or post a question on this thread.

I have an original Radian 65 (DOM is 9/08 I believe). It came with the original shorter crotch buckle. Is that the one you need measurements on?

I have the 22lb Baby Trend Flex lock in the closet and a 40lb Roundabout out in the car. I would like to help out, but could you clarify exactly what it is you need?

For the Baby Trend, you want it's weight, cover and all, I assume. Can I just use my bathroom scale?

For the Roundabout, you literally need the length of the crotch strap itself, as measured from bottom to top of buckle?

yes. When you submit your data, just make a note of he DOM in case I need to break out the radians more to indicate the differences.

For the infant seat weights, measure just the bucket with cover and required accessories or padding. Do not include the base portion in the weight. I have used my bathroom scale for some measurements though found my wii fit to provide better measurements.

For the crotch buckle length, this is the length of the strap where it comes out of the shell all the way up to the buckle (include the buckle in the measurement). Some people had expressed an interest in having this measurement due to issues with the strap being either too long or short, so that is why it was added.

Do you have the seat uninstalled? If so, could you get the booster belt guide heights as well? That probably won't be easy to get if the seat is already installed nicely and you don't feel like uninstalling it.

For the Roundabout I got about 3 1/4" for the crotch strap. I forgot to look while I was out there but DOM is 2009, around May or June.

Will post back with Baby Trend, I forgot it's in DD's room right now and she's napping...

Bumping this up in hopes that more missing measurements might be added to the measurements spreadsheets. Also, if you have a seat that has already have been submitted, I would like for you to verify the measurements listed to see how accurate they are. If you have any of the missing data or different measurements than what are found on the spreadsheet, please submit them using the submission forms found on the links located in the left hand side of the webpage.

I am not home right now, but I will go home in a little while and will get my Via to measure. I will then update with the measurements. In the meantime:

I would measure the Boulevard, but it is currently in my mom's car.

I see that you also need weight of the Parkway SG (in backless mode). Do you also need measurements for it? You said you have measurements of the non-SG style.

Someone has already submitted all the other SG measurements except for the no-back weight, but if you could verify the measurements already submitted, that would be great. If you get any different measurements, submit those on the submission form so that I can get the spreadsheet updated.

Do you still need info on the Maxi Cosi Rodi XR? I have one (and love it!) and can probably measure tomorrow.

Yep, I still need most everything on that seat. I am trying to keep the first post's list of missing measurements up-to-date, so if it is listed there, I probably still need it.

Also, I still would like people to check existing measurements so if you have a seat that has already been submitted, feel free to recheck the measurements. I don't want people to come back and say "well the spreadsheet says this" but I know it isn't right. If someone sees a measurement that is off, please let me know so we can get them as accurate as possible.

Ok, I'm adding the KF22, but I feel like I'm measuring it wrong? The lowest slots are measuring crazy low...

ETA: I also put "unsure" where it asks if it has lock offs. I wasn't sure if you meant on the base or just the car seat... The base, yes, it has lockoffs. Looking back, I'm sure you meant just the base...

How low? The Via's lowest slots are around 6-6.5". Are the KeyFit's lower?

I was getting about 6.5... I think. I already submitted it and have the KF all put away and, of course, I can't remember what I typed in...

But the KF30 was measured at 7" and that was with the infant insert. I don't have the insert, so I can't imagine that the 22 would have lower slots even without the insert, KWIM?

I know what you mean. :) It is interesting how we can all get different measurements. :)
