*Not sure if this is in the right place*

DH was in an accident this morning, he is shaken, but OK I haven't seen the car yet, but gut says not totaled. :(

I obviously need to replace my seats, but also want the insurance to replace the seat belts the car seats were installed with. Any links or info saying the the must be replaced? How can I get them to do it? DH's seatbelt is broken due to the accident, so that will get replaced regardless.

Oh no, hope your DH is okay. :( There might be something in the vehicle manual about inspecting and replacing seatbelts after a crash. I'm pretty sure there's a blurb about crashes and seatbelts in Honda owner's manuals, for example, if the car is a Honda model (hope it wasn't your new car, btw).

When you get your estimate on the damages, make sure to tell them the seatbelts need to be replaced and have them add that to the estimate that they send it to the insurance company. The ins comp might not say anything, so try that first. The carseats, just tell them they need to be replaced and see what they say. Some are really good, others you have to fight for it. Good luck.

Hmmm, good question. Although the carseat wasn't occupied, the crash was powerful enough to break your DH's seatbelt, so I'd lean toward yes. Assuming it's the same Honda tether anchor part that's used to retrofit pre-factory equipped Hondas, and the CR-V's anchors are in the ceiling over the cargo area where I'd think it would be pretty simple to inspect and access the anchor, the cost to replace the tether anchor wouldn't be a very spendy portion of the insurance repair claim. :twocents:
