Cold Seat

This is a new one to me:

It looks like you freeze it and leave it on the seat when it is unoccupied and then remove it so your seat is cold when you get back oin the car. As humid as it is where I live, I think you'd probably come back to a wet seat, though.

I just hope noone would try to put it in the seat and sit their child on top of it while frozen (or at all for that matter).

I can just see people making the straps loose so they can buckle the kid on top of that thing! They should have made it a differnt shape to discourage that more.

It says there are freezable ice packs that go inside the cover, so I would think that the ice packs are waterproof and the cover would absorb condensation maybe?

Would take up a lot of room in the freezer!

I am sitting here considering buying it.

The heat issue with RFing kids is very real... in my Altima, it takes quite a while just to get air circulation going in the back seat with the air on full blast & the vents pointed up. The driver is an icicle before the back seat is cool.

This thing will at least stave off the back and butt sweat while the ambient temperature is being lowered.

If I do buy it, I will report back.

I just use a ravioli-style ice blanket and keep a softsided cooler in the car (a better cooler with more icepacks is necessary for a busy day, but we never did a whole day of car errands).

Anyhow, there's some condensation with the freezeable ice packs, but the seat doesn't get soaked or anything.
