We have hit the "I don't want to be buckled in my car seat!" stage.

And this kid is smarter than my other ones were. They all just arched their backs and became stiff as boards. I know how to deal with that with a firm hand on the hipbones. But, this dd does this flop and twist thing that makes buckling very difficult. Sigh, leave it to #4 to throw me something new.

Yup, we're there some days, too. We're also at that stage with diaper changes, every single change.

For the carseat, I loosen the harness ridiculously loose. Get it around her, buckle crotch strap. DD likes to do the chest clip herself, so I distract her with that while I sneakily quickly tighten the harness.

If only the changing table had a harness and ankle ties.

No kidding! DD2 flips out anytime I try to change her.

I think it is time to put the MA back in the van and hope she outgrows this behavior before it expires in August. The TF is a bear to loosen and tighten rear facing! Yes, diaper changes are fun too. Here's hoping for potty training to happen soon.

I actually cram DS into his seat as best I can then clip the chest clip and that keeps him from escaping while I get the buckles done. Though he hasn't fought being buckled into his seat since I turned him back rear facing. I told DH I was going to design a wrist/ankle restraint system that attached to changing tables. DS is very very strong and I can barely hold him down for changes now at 2.5 years old. I usually have to bribe him with an organic sucker if he requires cleanup(poopy diaper).

I would prepare myself to seat my DS by putting my right hand under his bum, forearm between his legs, and my left hand across this back and on his far shoulder. I would lower his bottom onto the seat and, as I was pulling it out, grab the crotch buckle.

As I was doing this, I was ALSO laying his back onto the back of the seat, and as soon as that was done, lay my left forearm from elbow to wrist from his hip up to his shoulder (elbow at hip, wrist at shoulder), then slide that "male part" quickly into the crotch buckle. Side 1 done.

Keeping my left forearm against his abdomen, grab other shoulder strap and "male part" and quickly put it in. Side 2 done.

Then, with the beautiful Evenflo Triumph side knobs, tighten and go!

Whenever I took him out, I pulled the harness straps way loose (again, loved those side adjust knobs) so that there would be no struggling with getting his arms through when it was time to put him back in. hth. Fun stage, right? ;)

That is exactly what Marshall does - he tried to escape and twist out of it. LOL not too far he can go with him in the TFP - thankful for deep seat right now
