Rumor on Mazda 5 2011 model

I heard on another forum that the 2011 model will have 7 seats. Though the source wasn't sure if it would be sold in the states. Anyone hear this?

All I've heard or seen so far is that it will seat 6 but the specs for the U.S. model hadn't been released yet and the 2011 model debuted at the Geneva Auto Show held in March. Here's the 5 on the Geneva show's site: http://www.salon-auto.ch/en/premieres/mazda-mazda-5-171-17062 However on sifting around online a bit more, a few pictures sure suggest a 7-passenger model, just not sure if that will be offered in the U.S. or only in the European market version only. Here's a few links that mention 6-passenger capacity:

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/10q1/2011_mazda_5-official_photos_and_info

But notice this interior photo of the 2011 model at the Car and Driver site shows 3 seating positions in the second row: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/ca...d_info/gallery/2011_mazda_5_interior_photo_17 So maybe the U.S. production model will have a 7-passenger version/option, knock on wood.

But then this article at http://automobile.automotive.com/132092/1002-2011-mazda-mazda5/index.html suggests the 7-passenger version is unlikely to be offered in the U.S., argh. So time will tell and maybe Mazda will wise up and offer both variations to appeal to more customers, fingers crossed.

OOOHH! I just trade my Mazda 5 for the CX-9 because I needed 7 seats. I am intrigued by the possibility. I will have to ask DH what the rumors are around the office. He works for Mazda. I know they often try them out over seas before bringing them here. The Mazda 5 was originally supposed to be only for the European market but it is doing really well over here now.
