myride seat insert question

we bought this seat back in November after a car accident, and I love it. But I'm noticing something that's making me uncomfortable.

We're using the second harness slot, but the slot in the cushion/insert doesn't match up, so the harness goes down into that slot and then back up over my DD's shoulders.
I'm starting to think this is no different than the changes in harness that the bundle me causes.

I did some searching, and didn't find anyone asking this same question, but I did see something referencing a different insert with 2 harness slots, and being glad their seat came with it so they didn't need to call CS to get a new one.

So, is this something I should not be using? Is graco replacing old inserts with the new one?

Thanks much. :)

No, you should not be using it. The manual clearly states that the insert is only to be used with the lowest harness slot. It needs to be removed.

ETA: Actually, maybe I'm wrong. :p I have to go dig out my manual. Maybe it's the bottom 2 slots it can be used with? I'll go look.

You'll have to read the manual. When i bought mine back in Sept '09, you could ONLY use it with the very bottom slot. Since then Graco has changed it and you can now use it on the bottom 2 slots. This will depend which insert you have. If your insert has 2 sets of slots, then you should be fine, but you'd have to put the harness through the higher slot on the insert. Mine only had the one set of slots. Sounds like you have the old insert (like mine), and you could always call Graco and find out if they'd send you a new one. It's worth a shot.

Mine has one slot on the insert and my manual says it can only be used with the bottom slot.

our insert has one slot. But the manual states that it can be used with the bottom two slots.

I'm wondering if I got a newer manual, but an older insert? My DD won't be in my car until Monday, so I'll call Graco then, and take it out in the mean time.

I thought it was strange that there was only one hole...but I only just noticed how much it affected the harness. (I know, I should have looked...)

That's what i was thinking, that you got the old insert and new manual. Good thing you knew to look and noticed something was wrong  I would call Graco too. In the meantime riding in it without the insert wont her hurt her one bit, my daughter never used the insert.

Yeah, I'm glad I noticed it before something bad happened. But, it's a little embarrassing to have missed something like this as a tech...
