I just bought it for my daughter & in the manual it says in order for it to be rear facing it needs to be fully reclined. I mean it has 4 positions for reclining so fully reclined is practically laying down. She's not happy about it since it looks like it's actually more then her infant car seat & I'm not even sure its going to fit in my small car. Should it be okay if i don't recline it all the way just maybe half way? She's a little over a year & weighs 20lbs by the way..

Have you actually tried it in your car? Many vehicle seats are sloped so the seat just sitting on your living room floor isn't the acurate recline. I have the MCP myself and the angle is absolutely fine in both my vehicles, albeit not as upright as 30 degrees. For a newborn you would need to use a noodle though.

However, you have to have it in the most reclined position (4th position) on the seat when RF...it's not ok to have it any higher. But like I said, for an older baby with good head control you can not use a noodle and it will be a bit more upright.

I had the Priori when my DS was younger. It looks really reclined when on the floor, but once you install it in the car it's probably right at 45 degrees. I loved that seat, but my DS outgrew it RFing around 2. I had it installed in my tiny Mazda Protege and it fit perfect without needing to scoot the front seat up to the dashboard. I think it fits really well in most small cars.
