'03 Ford Windstar + 4 seats!!

So a friend of mine is borrowing my van for the weekend because she has company and there are 7 people in the house....and she drives a matrix...lol

So after an hour of playing I got everything installed, seats all perfect...my only issue is one adult is sitting center seat with lap belt and no head rest..... but nothing else would work......especially since the very back bench seat passanger side seat belt is fubar'd (nice run in the belt).

So here is what I had to play with....
2 MA
1 SS1
1 High back booster (evenflo I believe)
3 Adults :D

Here is what I managed to do
Back seat bench seat, FFing MA (Seat Belt), 1 Adult (Lapbelt no head rest  ), RFing MA (Latch - FUBARed seat belt)
Center Captain Chairs - Behind driver SS1 (Latch) and behind Driver is the Booster seat.

I tried having a MA in the center bench and the SS1 base beside, but since I need the outboard driver seat to be installed using the LATCH I couldn't move the base over enough to allow for the bucket portion to click in. I tried having the MA outbaord and SS1 center....but same thing, can't move the MA over far enough to allow for the bucket to click in. I tried RFing MA and FFing MA, in both configurations, same issue. *sigh* So need to get that belt fixed.

But they are in, and tight and I put the visiting child BACK rfing...lol...She is 1 year and 20 pounds and FF at home in a 3-in-1. But they told her that she would be RFing here because I was installing the seats..... :D

Did you try just getting a marginal install on the LATCH seat? Like, right at or just under one inch of movement. Then shove it over as far as you can to give room to the middle seat.

I know it's tempting to get the tightest install you can automatically. I have to stop myself and make myself give it all the room it has to give when doing three across.

I tried that, but even that wont move it enough to give the middle more room. I even tried to install the SS1 with the seat belt on the fubar'd side to just see, and that wouldn't even allow the bucket part to clip in with the MA there....mind you I didn't try it next to the RFing MA....that just dawned on me....hmmmmmmm

I have the same van. Its a rough one for three across. Did you try the SS1 without the base? I have 13 seats to work with and I couldn't get it to work without a RSTV.

The problem is that its not me using the van, its a friend. And although they are good about doing the installs properly, I don't know that they would get it right every time. So I figured at least with the base installed there would be no second guessing.
