Can a tether anchor be installed in a NEW vehicle?

I don't believe it's possible on such a new vehicle. Older models can usually be retrofitted with top tether anchors, but newer ones are generally limited to the top tether anchors that were installed at the factory. The Yukon should already have some factory installed top tether anchors and the owner's manual should help clarify their locations. Techs on the board with Yukon experience could chime in here possibly, too. :) This site http://www.thecarseatlady.com/vehicles/the_latch_system_8.html has a lot of good info. about where top tether anchors tend to be located in various types of vehicles if you're having difficulty finding them in the Yukon. :)

I think we have some friends who have installed add'l tether points. I don't see why this would be any different than installing in a vehicle that doesn't have them. Of course, there are some limiting factors, such as a split rear bench seat that will put a child seat on an awkward spot on that seat - that's the issue with the third row of our Sienna...

Not worried about cost. If so, who does it? GM dealership says they are not allowed? Car is 2007 Yukon.

No :(

Like Jean said, are you sure you've found them all? If you have, that's all you get (2 sets of LATCH and one extra top tether somewhere are all that are required, unfortunately)

In my response, I was talking about top tethers. Julie's right - there's no way to add lower anchors...

Can't add those to a car so new, either :(.

There was a couple years there where they came with spots to add more top tethers, but now the party's over (there was more rigorous testing done, like all three across the back at once, and they didn't hold adequately, so they stopped putting them all in)

Trust me I found them all. There are only 3 TOP TETHER anchors and 2 Latch positions.

I have an 07 Yukon XL Denali. The 2 latch/2 tether are in the captains chairs 2nd row. There is only one tether in the 3rd row but seating for 3. I did pull apart an 07 rental suburban and the tether is actually welded to the back of the seat frame (I am sure it could be duplicated on the other side, they are 50/50 seats that can be removed and this is standard on the Canadian version).

I guess I will now have to decide what is safer for my almost 8 yo DD(48 in and 52 lbs) a non tethered Radian or BPB (she can sit properly). Right now she is in a Husky but will have to rearrange when Baby #4 arrives.
