Question on the postions of two children in a vehicle.
Daughter 20 months old in Britax marathon, newborn in Graco Snugride.
Both on outboard sides or one in the middle? If one in the middle, which one?
Thanks!

Provided you can get a good independent installation for both seats (you don't need the other one in there to make it tight) you can do middle and outside if you want. They both should be RFing so it doesn't matter where you put them. If you had one FFing and one RFing I'd say FFing in the middle and RFing infant outside. But if you can't fit them like that, or it's too difficult to get a kidlet in then you can do both outside. If you need someone to sit back there sometimes you may want to do the infant in the middle and the RFing toddler outboard and then you should be able to fit someone else in the back.

i have 3 across 2 being RFing and i find it better for me to have the RFing seats next to each other. Mostly because i watch twins who are 15 months and like to run away when i am straping one in so i like to put them both in there seats than strap them up. Right now i have them both outboard because the RFing seat is in the middle and i am putting one in than the other straping him in than going back to strap the other in. I think i might change it back to the way it was.
But for the time you have the infant seat so it is not as hard. As long as the seats are in safly than it is up to what fits you best as to where they sit

If your 20mo is below 33 pounds, s/he should still be rear-facing for optimum safety.

Generally we say it's best to put the MOST proteced child (rear-facing child) in the least protected seating position (that would be outboard) and put the least protected child (forward-facing child) in the most protected seating position (in the middle). All of that is dependent on a good install.
