So its Sunday night when a customer comes into the car seat section at BRU where I work (part time). It took me a minute to remember where I knew her from but then I realized it was from the IEP meeting we had a few weeks ago! lol (my memory is not so great....cant believe I sat for 2 hours with her and didnt recognize her 2 weeks later! Just so happens that her 3 yo boy with down syndrome was starting in my classroom the very next day! She was looking at a nautilus or frontier for him. He is 3 years old. I asked how much he weighed and she said 22lbs. Woah.....hang on. So I direct her back to the convertibles and explain why it is so important for a tiny 3 year old (and he is tiny....about the size of a 9 month old) to be rear facing. She really listened and ended up with a graco my ride....which he will be rear facing in for a loooong time I hope. He has very very low muscle tone and cant sit up on his own yet. Flopy head. Very much an infant but the calendar says he is 3 years old. Anyway...just thought I would share my funny (and successful) sunday night at BRU! So far I am loving my new job. Will get to teach (hopefully soon) the buckle up and boogie class and the breastfeeding 101 class on tuesday nights. Cant wait!
