New Recaro Booster (ProBooster)

I have the scoop (well, as much as I could get LOL) from Gayle at Recaro.

"We do have a new booster seat coming out. It starts production next week so you’ll see it on the market soon (I would say by the end of the month). If you check our website www.recarokids.com the images should be up shortly. This seat will accommodate children up to 120lbs. It is designed a bit differently than the Vivo seat."

And (in response to some of my questions)

"The name is the ProBooster and the retail price will be $129.00. At this point the colors are Midnight (black microfiber); Misty (dk. grey/lt. grey suede texture material) and Blue Opal (black/blue cotton type material). The seat is not latch compatible."

I can't wait to see! And Gayle is very nice. :)

Dedicated. No harness.

I would totally buy the Young Sport in the future if they upped the harness height/weight limit, btw, if anyone is reading from Recaro ;)

darn on the no LATCH....but I guess I won't care if it's light like the vivo.

The only combo seat i love as a harness seat AND a booster is the YoungSport. If only they'd up the weight limits.

That's where I'm at too--I'm not really convinced on LATCHable boosters other than the convenience factor (I see the safety argument both ways)

Sounds like they are upping the weight limits on the YS.. yay!

Oh, that would be freaking awesome if they upped the harnessed weight on the YS!

And, um, I wouldn't take anything Gayle said to the bank and deposit it ;) Do a search for her name and you'll find some interesting reading

I have often thought that Gayle and Russ should hang out. Maybe throw back a few drinks.

I know not to take anything Gayle says to the date, it could be another year, but I also talked with someone at recarochildseats.com and they said it's suppossed to be on their site around the 1st of May, didn't know if it was going to be available then or just pre-orders. The removed the youngsport from their site, so who knows...

Oh, it's not just the date Gayle's been wrong on. Try...everything. LOL.

No pink version?

I would love the Vivo - I think it would work nicely with my 5 y/o who is slowly transitioning to a HBB. But if there's no pink/girly, it would be too much of a battle, I think! Oh, how I wish they still made the Blush.

I don't know Gayle or have any history with her, but I hope in this case she's right b/c I want the Blue Opal color. But recarochildseats is local to me and I've asked them about it and received the same answer (pics/preorder soon).

Let's keep the Recaro person [?Gayle?] out of these posts. These posts are about the boosters.

Is the seat bottom seem as short as the Vivo seat bottom? The specs say that the Pro Booster is 14" deep and the Vivo is 11" deep. The Vivo is too short for my child.

I'm too lazy to do a search to link you to, but if you search I posted pics with measurements on the ProBooster. I do not have a Vivo to compare it to, but you can get an idea.
