Correct harness height

When judging what slot the harness should be out from when rf, do you look at where the shoulder is perpendicular to the car seat or parallel to the ground?

Also, is there somewhere that lists the slot heights for each of the slots on the Radian Premier (not just the top one)? If I know DD's torso height (which I don't atm), can I use that to judge which she should be on? It seems like depending on the day she seems to be at different heights relative to the slots lol. We're going to be seeing April in a couple of weeks and I'll get her to look at it then, but I want to make sure it's at least safe just in case something happens between now and then.

Ok I thought so but wanted to double check. The ruler is a good idea! It seems like it should be obvious but literally every time I put her in it the harness is at a different spot relative to her shoulders. Maybe it's the cover shifting or something so a ruler would definitely help.

Yes, perpendicular. If you think about it, measuring parallel to ground would give you room along the seat back for the child to ramp up before reaching the harness in a crash.

If you see the strap cupping down over the shoulder, it's below. And and slightly above can be harder to judge. But, it is not an exact science. If it's that close, it isn't going to change things much, KWIM? And as always, when in doubt, go with the more conservative option, which in this case is going with the lower slot until she is more obviously at/above the next one. Unless the straps start to slipp off the shoulders when properly tightened, being quite a bit below is fine, and then you are sure it's right even if she slumps down a bit during the ride.

Thank you! That's very helpful, and I'll keep it in mind when we go out there next. Some days I think for sure that she's right at the next ones and I should move them up, but then sometimes it seems like she's nowhere near. Since I always go out there with both kids I haven't had a chance to sit her in it and have a good look at how they are with her sitting properly since I first noticed she might be at the next ones up.
