Straps on the FR85

Sorry if somebody has already mentioned this, but I'm so excited! DS2 took his first ride in the new Frontier 85 today and I noticed the straps are thicker like the MA, not like the old Frontier!!! Glad to see they switched them to the thicker, less slippery straps - so much better!

Overall we love the seat so far. I'll take some pics of DS2 riding in it next time. But he  his new seat - especially that he can finally reach a cupholder! And it was so much easier to install and get it nice and tight (3rd row 2001 Odyssey with seat belt short path).

If DS1 was closer to outgrowing the regular FR, I'd be tempted to get him one too! But he doesn't grow fast in the torso, so I'm betting he'll last till at least 7 yrs in it.

Every time I read something about the new FR85 it makes me sad that I have the old FR. BUT, I'm so happy that they made all those improvements!

Someone posted (after their child puked on the seat) that Britax doesn't even have the replacement straps available for the FR85s yet. I would love to find out if they will work with FR80s.

Hey, I sold my old Frontier for $2 less than I bought it, and the lady gave me ten bucks to vet her install on it. So you could always CL it and see what happens...

Oh yeah, I think I remember hearing that. It might be awhile before they are available.

Exactly! I was going to list on CL, but my sister came to visit last week and the MA I had given her expired last month. So she was going to need a new seat for my nephew. I was so happy to see the old FR install in her SUV so easily!
