Can/do kids sleep in the RSTV?

We are taking a plane trip across the country soon. We will need seats on the other side. We will take either the EFTA or RN65 for ds but I'm torn about what to do for dd. For the sake of easy travel I'd like to take the RSTV, which fits her nicely and she is used to using on shorter trips.

When we get to CA, we will have to rent a car and drive about 3 and a half hours. I'm betting dd will need to sleep because of travel exhaustion. She isn't a usual car sleeper and has never slept in the RSTV or any seat for that matter. Is it possible or comfortable to do so? Should I take a RN or GN instead for her? I'm a bit intimidated with 2 kids, a stroller, 2 seats, etc. on my own but I know it's been done.

If I do take the RN65, do kids typically have head slump in that seat? The sides are so shallow I can't envision her sleeping in that. But I have no idea because she never falls asleep in the car, but I know that with the 3 hour time difference and being exhausted she's really going to need to sleep.

Advice?

We used our RSTV a lot last summer when DS was 4 1/2. He did sleep in it on our longer drives (we had some all day drives). He is not bothered much by head slump and usually our longer drives had him between 2 adults (or one adult/one teen), so he could just sort of lean onto them. I don't get too worked over head slump unless he were to complain about it or seem more stiff or uncomfortable after the drive.

For us, in your situation, we'd take the RSTV. DS would be as likely to sleep in it as in his GN.

Both my kids have fallen asleep in it. The head support pillow is helpful if you think they might sleep in it.

My 5yo fell asleep in it on our last trip, no problem. And he didn't complain of being uncomfortable when he woke up.

My younger DD (age 4, almost 5) fell asleep in hers during a short cab ride last week. She was pretty zonked from walking around museums most of the day, lol.

For that matter, I used to sleep in the car, growing up, when we didn't have car seats at all. So it seems even the no-sides etc should be sleepable.

ETA: And this was while buckled in. We were NOT allowed to lay down on the seat.
