advice on top tether

I'm installing seats for my 2 kids in the 3rd row of my sisters caravan and just discovered there's only one LATCH. I decided to put dd2 RF in EFTA, but she just fits (2 in above her head). Wondering what would be best for next time, when I assume dd2 would have to be FF.

Who should have the tether:
5y10m dd in Nauti about 38 pounds
3y0m dd in EFTA about 34 pounds

I originally thought the larger child, dd, should have the top tether. But then I think the nauti had low head excursion without the top tether.

My 5 yo niece and nephew are in the 2nd row in nauti's.

Thanks :)

Unless you can put them side-by-side so one is in the center, no one gets the tether. It can only be used in the center position. I have to use mine like that every day. The Nautilus is not tethered in my van.

Is the center LATCH off center? Meaning it's for the center seat, but positioned more towards the driver's side?

If I were to choose between an untethered EFTA and an untethered Nautilus, I'd choose the Nautilus to be untethered. The Nautilus tested well untethered.

I am correct in thinking that the head exertion is worse for an older, heavier child?

If so, I might be tempted to put the older child in the EFTA, tethered, and the younger untethered in the Nautilus, if she fits.

How does your almost 6 year old fit in a booster? I'd consider a booster rather than an untethered harnessed seat if my child fit well & would sit properly.
