I need a booster for one day

Our back up car seat (its in my moms car) is a GN and DD 5.5yo (37lbs) is still harnessed when she uses it. I am in a jam because my Vivo is not available and DD has a playdate tomorrow and they will take her to school. I was think of using the GN as a booster for the day. What do I have to do to use my GN as a booster? Is it a pain to get the straps out, I am assuming I need to dismantle it? Of course the instruction manual is with the seat in moms car :{

Graco says you need to remove the harness. They're worried about a child tangling in it. You can see a copy of the manual online at gracobaby.com.

I know in the past when I've used it just once as a booster I left the harness buckled behind the child, the chest clip where it would be comfortable, and just dealt with it for one ride.

I'm confused...you need to give the friend's mom a seat for your dd to use to bring your dd to school tomorrow? And aren't you going to have to get the GN back from your mom's car (in which case you'll have the manual) in order to use that? What seat is in YOUR car?

I have a radian in my car but I don't want to uninstall it and have to put it the other car for one trip. I don't like to loan out or remove my primary car seat which is why I have extras!
So yes, I will have to get the GN and once I do that I will have the manual. I just wanted some insight on using the GN as a booster so I knew how difficult or easy it would be.
School is one mile from the families home so I may just clip the harness behind her and use it that way, it seems like a good solution since I am kinda stuck this week.

I used mine one, in an emergency situation, as a booster. I took the harness off the splitter plate, and pulled the harness out to the front, then rolled each harness into a cubby.
