Got the Symphony 65 today!

I won it in a Facebook contest last week.

First impressions - I really like the looks of the seat. Lots of leg room, looks comfy, and DS seems to like it. DD does too! She was mad that it's not for her, even though she JUST got a new Frontier 85.

I sat both kids in it in the living room. DD is 3-4" too tall to rear-face in it! It has a surprisingly short shell/headrest height for RF use. I measured about 22 inches, so 21 usable inches. Only the lowest two headrest positions are allowed for RF, and DS is on the second highest already, with just a couple inches to go.

(Kitty cat wanted the tape measure that DS was playing with.)

Here's DD with the harness and headrest in the highest position:

I haven't installed it yet, but will later after the kids go to bed.

Looks nice.

Doesn't look a great seat for bigger kids though. Bummer. My DS is a few months older then your DD & there's no way he'd fit.

Your DS fits in it like mine did. I loved the seat but ended up returning it because my DS just SWAM in it. He is tall and skinny and he would just squirm and end up all umcomfy.:(

DS used to be a chunky monkey, but he's thinned out a LOT, so we'll see. He seems perfectly happy in his True Fit, so I don't think the interior width of this seat will bother him. He seems to like having space, and I've never noticed him squirming or slouching over. :)

I just came back in from installing. SureLATCH is um... weird? I don't know what to think of it just yet. I can't help but wonder how strong the retractor is and how it would hold up in a crash, but obviously it's been tested, so I'm sure it's fine. The LATCH strap seems to cover up a small portion of the bottom of the crotch strap. The manual shows that the LATCH strap must be routed in front of the crotch strap (meaning the LATCH strap is closer to where the child's feet go). It's routed properly, lined up nice and straight, but no matter what I do it ends up sliding up over about the bottom 1/4" of the crotch strap.

One thing I noticed that I liked was that the plastic part of the red tab does not extend the full width of the harness strap... meaning it does not contact the child's skin. We had an issue with that when we had the EFTA, the red part was the whole width of the strap and rubbed like crazy. Looks like this one won't be as big of a problem.

I love the harness adjuster, it's very smooth and way up high so it's very easily accessible while rear-facing.

I'll try to get pics of DS in the seat in the van in the next few days. I'll post them to this thread.
