Apex 65 and Mercury Sable???

My mom has a Mercury Sable, I think 95. The backseats don't have removeable headrests but the seat kind of goes up a little as a headrest - does that make any sense? Does this count as a headrest or no?

I have a Regent in main family car, and an Apex 65 in my car and my il's car (these 3 are the main cars). My mom has dd only one time a week and drives very infrequently and never far with her so I don't want to spend a lot on a seat.

If the Apex 65 doesn't work what do you think I should do? DD is 4yo, 41 lbs and 42". I'm thinking of putting her in the Parkway in just this one car. There is no way she would undo the seatbelt and i'm confident she would stay still (especially if she was threatened with taking away the pretty pink seat if she so much as flinches).

TIA

I know someone with that seat in that car, and honestly, I don't think the headrest bumps are tall enough for the seat to be useful for a very long time (like, her 4 yo's head is getting to reach over the top of them already...). I'd be personally more inclined to use a Parkway in this instance :)
