DD1 and DD2 are on different schedules (early and late bird reading times) so I share dropoff/pickup with my neighbor who has a 4th grader (early drop off/late pick up). Neighbor has my FPSV's but has been suggesting recently that DD's don't need boosters in her car (2009 Honda Pilot) b/c she can adjust the shoulder belts lower (I emailed her Kecia's 5-step test carseatblog entry to explain how I was deciding when to stop using the boosters although I'm not sure if she read it).
So yesterday DD2 got a ride home from her and tried riding without the booster for the first time. Her verdict? "Mom, I didn't like how the lap belt was too high on my tummy". (I gave her a big hug and complimented her for being smart about safety - and if I had a spare $100 around I would have rewarded her with a Clek Olli)
So this morning I sent her off with her FPSV backless and told neighbor that it's DD2's request because she's not comfortable without it.
