A 35 pound 3 year old RF with a slightly loose harness, or forward facing with a properly tightened harness?

I'm assuming it'd be FF.

Depends on what "slightly loose" means. Doesn't pass the pinch test? Passes, but just barely? Why can the harness be tightened properly FF but not RF?

I don't remember where I saw the study, but there was one that showed in an increase in safety in RF even when there were usage or installation errors.

That sounds familiar. Didn't we see misuse crash test videos? And we concluded that the misuses are bad mostly because there are often multiple misuses?

Because of strength issues, SIL and DH both have a hard time tightening the harness (which is why DH has EFTA). We all know seats can be easier to tighten FF than RF (you pull differently).
