Should the Frontier 85 crotch strap lock into place?

I have DS's Frontier 85 on the middle slot and the metal part doesn't lock into place the way the most forward and most back slots do. It does get a little tighter as I push it into place but I can keep pushing it and it slides out of place. Does that make sense? I'm going to check my old Frontier tomorrow to see if they are the same.

My DS is on the middle crotch straps position and locked into place just fine. It took a bit of pushing, but did it just fine. If you really push on it, it'll move forward or backward, but that makes sense, since that's how you get the crotch strap out.

Perfect. I think mine is the same way. It just seems that the old Frontier slides into place a little differently and more snugly.

Mine seems to stay secure. I liked that it was easier to remove, probably to allow for quicker change if you switch to the Secure Guard clip for booster mode.
