Anybody else with this Frontier 85 issue?

So, the Bman loves this seat. For 3 days every time we opened the car door, he yelled, "AWESOME!!!" It was pretty easy to install once I was able to get the seat belt buckle through the short belt path (the opening is very narrow--this was difficult and I have small hands--DH will never be able to install this).

Here is the issue. The harness straps are really close together side-to-side. They really chafe on his neck. Even with the pads, he has complained some. And poor boy, if we don't remember to put the pads in the right spot on his neck before we buckle the chest clip, it's major pinching (hurts!) on the neck moving them into place (on a related note, you'd think after once, DH would remember, but I digress...).

Anyone else had this issue? I would never, in a million years, even thought about this as a potential issue. It's not like he has sensory issues or anything.

We haven't had any neck rubbing issues yet. I hope we don't in the future. My boys' 7yr old sister rode in it this weekend, and she didn't complain either. And she would have.

DD hates straps that are close together, but she hasn't complained in the Frontier. I am very careful to make sure the pads are positioned properly before I tighten, and I also make sure her shirt/jacket are pulled up to protect her skin.
