DH is the worst for not buckling up. I am always on him when he is with us, as are the kids. I have told him it is one thing to have such disregard for his own life, but when he is with us, he is not only putting himself in danger, but the rest of us - he would make one HUGE projectile . I found a youtube video of a fairly big guy in an accident who ended up in the rear window or something, and he is moderately better about getting buckled up before I have to remind him. He has been stopped a couple of times, and has been issued warnings (and always when I find out, I am cursing at the cop for not fining him to the hilt )but never before been ticketed. Today he got pulled over for not wearing his seatbelt, and finally got the fine - not only that but the officer found a bunch of other violations, he was not carrying licence, his licence plate was damaged, and he couldn't seem to locate his registration. Hopefully the combined fines will be enough to scare some safety into him, as I pointed out, if you had been buckled up you never would have been pulled over in the first place .
